A couple weeks ago I made the trek to Grand Rapids, MI all by myself. Ok, it's actually only a pleasant 3-hour drive, and I spent most of it chatting with my sis which made the time fly, but still, I felt very proud of myself that I made it all by my lonesome. Haven't done that since my college days :) And speaking of my college days, the reason I went was to spend some quality time with some quality college friends and celebrate and anticipate a quality soon-to-be-here baby that my former college roomie is expecting!!
We had a nice little shower on a lovely Saturday morning in the lovely city of Grand Rapids.
Can you guess the theme?
Ok, maybe not yet...
How about now?
You are brilliant.
We spent a good three hours eating yummy food (thanks E, it was great!), drinking yummy coffee, and catching up on life events, both big and small.
Oh yes, and catching up on snuggles and grins from quickly growing little babies
Oh, and I guess opening some fun little baby presents too
Ah, me and Court -
Shared the same room for three years in college (and the exact same birthday!)...
started out here
And now we are here...continuing to go through life together, creating new memories and raising babies together (well, I guess 'together' is a loose interpretation since we live many miles apart, but we are together in spirit :)
All in all, it was a wonderful time and so nice to catch up with friends. I remember being young, and thinking it was so cool that friends from college still got together for reunions in their 40's. Well, we are not quite there yet (Ok, we still have a LONG way to go til 40) but it looks like we will be those people, and I think that's pretty neat.
Here's to the blessing of friends and staying in touch! Thanks for being there girls!
Now...if only this little baby would bless is with his/her presence!
