In case you were not aware, having TWO weddings TWO months apart makes for some hectic days and sleepless nights. For that reason, I am just now getting this post done, which features pictures from the lovely shower (if I do say so myself :) that we threw for my baby sis. Here are pictures from that celebration!
Flowers from my garden (well most of them) placed in glass jars spray-painted gold. Chair covers made from vintage pillow cases. Banner made from vintage doilies and hankies. Dress form made into a 'bride' with faux flowers. (Most of these touches were thanks to my talented mother-in-law. Thanks for all the help! :)
Hand-made cake pops! (we used gold edible spray paint and gold sprinkles) and they were toddler tested and approved.
You may recognize these decorations from the party we threw for my mom on her 60th birthday.
They were pretty simple to make, only involving brown paper bags and gold spray paint.
Friends and family celebrating
My big sis talked a bit about what we love so much about our little sis and how very excited we are for her.
She opened many beautiful gifts with the aid of this little guy, who took his job very seriously.
We'd like to extend our gratitude to all the ladies who joined us to shower love, blessings and gifts on Miss Lilli.
Afterwards, we all got to practice our picture-taking-posing-with-flowers skills out on the lawn.
I think we clean up pretty nicely :)
Only TWO days to go until these love birds exchange rings and vows. We are so excited!!
In closing, I wanted to share something. I have not mentioned it on my blog, but my dear, dear aunt passed away this summer six months after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. She was dearly loved, and her presence at this shower (and these upcoming weddings) was and will be severely missed. We wish you had been there Tante Edith, we love you so!
Come this Friday, we know you and Oma will be having a big celebration of your own up there!
